About Us

Sew-n-Quilt Embroidery and More was established in July 2022 by me, Michelle Vales, because my dear friend, Diane Brazil, and I love to quilt, embroider, cross-stitch, and more. 

I purchased a new Grace Q'nique 19" longarm machine on a 10' Continuum II Grace frame in April and a new Husqvarna Designer Epic Sewing/Embroidery machine in June and love them both.

 

Diane (right) and I (left) made this lap quilt for our dear friend and neighbor, Steve Spear (center), a Marine sniper during the Vietnam war, for his 67th birthday last weekend. Thank you for your service, Steve! We used a 2" blue border and a 4" black border. Diane hand-stitched the red binding...yes, she missed a spot at the top and is fixing it for him. :-) We used the trapunto method under the bike to give it some fluff and I did free-motion stitching on the longarm machine, no design pattern, just whatever came to mind as I was going along.

Although I have a full-time job, Diane and I love to spend whatever time we can in my hobby shop piecing together quilt tops and quilting them for friends and family.

We live in a small rural community, and the closest quilt/fabric shop is over an hour's drive. However, I recently became an independent distributor for a large wholesaler that offers thousands of designer fabrics, batting, notions, needlepoint, patterns, etc..  So, I'm sure you'll be seeing me at festivals and craft shows in our community and the surrounding areas. And, if you are looking for fabric pre-cut or printed panels, notions, needlework, patterns, or other quilting supplies, please contact me and I'll see what I can find for you.
